-CHARTER SCHOOLS: Charter schools are taking a huge chunk out of our school budget. This is tax money taken away from our students and the taxpayers have no say whatsoever. The Ailanthus School that has been proposed would be the third charter school to open in Franklin, which would be devastating to our budget. Please sign this petition to stop Ailanthus. Learn more about charters here and here.
-GOVERNOR: The NJEA PAC Operating Committee screened candidates for the Republican gubernatorial primary. They voted not to endorse anybody. They have already endorsed Phil Murphy in the Democratic primary, and you can learn more about him here. Please also see the attached flier about Ambassador Murphy.
-NJEA ELECTIONS: Your ballot for NJEA and SCEA offices should have arrived in the mail at your home address. The FTEA has endorsed Marie Blistan for NJEA President and Steve Beatty for NJEA Secretary-Treasurer. Marie and Steve have stood by us in our fights against privatization, charter school expansion, and have earned our endorsement by being the most qualified and experienced candidates. You can vote by mailing back your paper ballot or online at this link.
Feel free to email me with any questions. Keep up the great work!
